Window Light

Wow, I’m watching the new reality show Double Exposure while I’m writing this post.  I’m glad I don’t shoot with a partner.  Why they do it I don’t know.  They seem to bitch and argue constantly, it’s draining just to listen to.  It seems everyone puts up with it because they produce beautiful work, but what a price.

Spent a couple of hours this afternoon with a locale photographer about producing DVDs and SEO.  I spent this evening on the phone with Michael Carr about his SEO.  Michael called to help me with my speed lights and the conversation just went towards SEO.   I’m no expert at all, I just happen to be working on it myself these days.

Photographers complain that people won’t pay their professional prices, but then again they don’t want or understand why they should pay for SEO.   It’s overwhelming what goes on behind the scenes these days.  We all need help…your local competitors can be your life line.

During the past week I’ve changed the studio around quite a bit  for my workshop this weekend.  There are so many nooks and crannies I haven’t shot in yet.  I shot this yesterday in front of my east facing windows up towards my ceiling,  I noticed I caught the skylight way in the back, that was a surprise.  This headshot has the least amount of retouching ever and Andi did her own makeup…you know I love her freckles.   I’m trying to go low tech and since I have 100 ft of windows I probably should use them!

@Cliff – SEO = Search Engine Optimisation. A bit of a black art, the objective of which is to improve website visibility (or ranking) on search engines when people search using search terms relevant to one’s website or business.

@Mary – I LOVE that headshot!
