Pocket Wizards

“Model praying her website shows up on Google”

Photographers share in different ways with different people.  With people close to you everything is on the table.  People you just meet, perhaps a bit more reserved.  What do they want, really?

I’m at the point that I really don’t care.  Certain things would bother me though, like a model showing up with a boyfriend who is a photographer and not asking me first.  BTW, the answer would be NO.  I do consider myself a teacher but on my terms.

I wouldn’t share SEO, (hire him) you’ll have to pay for that and I’m no expert.  I don’t want my competitors to have it on their radar, call me selfish.  The depth and breath of it is overwhelming.

You can have all the great images in the world but if people can’t find you, you are going backwards.  You have no idea who’s “not” contacting you and you’ll never know.

I’ve been sharing with Wilson the process of producing DVDs and referring him to some of my contacts in the industry.  So when you share and receive it’s nice, and today was about me receiving.

Wilson Sarkis of www.wilsonsarkisphotography came by with his fabulous posse and we went outside.  Hot and humid weather today so I just hung back and watched the Maestro work.  Wilson is quite adept at the whole Pocket Wizard TT5 combo.  The system was seamless and he had no misfires.  The images were beautiful, shot wide open in the middle of the day.

There has been a lot of info pros and cons about the pocket wizard system on the forums and I have to say I went with the Radio Poppers because of it.  My Radio poppers have a foam ring that is amateur and part of the plastic foot  broke already, disappointing.  I haven’t touched them since and one last thing, I don’t like having a flash on camera just to hold the radio popper.

After seeing the Pocket Wizards at work I have to say I think I made a mistake.  Wilson is working on producing a DVD on the pocket wizards and I think there is a need, I’ll take one when he’s finished producing them…hurry up!

The other problem is I no longer have the funds to purchase the pocket wizards…boo hoo, perhaps next summer

Summer is a time of testing because models have more time and it’s nice to get outside.  I’m a studio shooter so I’m trying to make shooting outside quick and easy so I don’t dread it…we’ll see where this leads

Hola! That’s the same reason why I didn’t go with the radiopoppers after I tried them out for a day. I decided to stick with the PW and I’m glad that I did. It’s not a perfect system but it’s one that works for me in my kit as I still can use them to trigger my studio lights with my old PWs.

Love all the posts, Mary! You’re doing an excellent job and once my new blog is up an running I’d love to do a post on you and your workshops. =) Hope all is well.
