Lingerie Photographers In Michigan Mary DuPrie
We all have lists of things to do, some more involved than others. Figuring out how to layout and order a book or album has been high on my list. Well I can cross that task off, I ordered my first book today form AdoramaPix.com.
I found the site extremely easy to navigate and it was actually enjoyable. They don’t give you “too” many choices that make your brain hurt. I think they offer just the right amount for a newbie like me. I didn’t download a color profile so my fingers are crossed. You can also sell your books and prints in your albums which I found to be interesting… hummm, I’ll have to keep better track of model releases.
They give you an embed code for websites as well as all the social media sites. It takes quite awhile to load so you have to be patient.
I ordered a 26 page 8″x12″ with UV coating and a 26 page (non uv coated) 6″x9″ as an add on. The total with shipping came to $93. I chose the build your own design option, which gives you blank pages. I designed most of the layouts in Photoshop, but have since designed some layouts right on their site. I love how you can span one image across the two pages, which gives you a 24″ layout.
So it should take about 10 days to get and I’m sure I’ll be chiming in when it arrives.
Ahhhhhh
Thanks everyone for all your help… my next task… an Album

It’s beautiful! Can’t wait to hear your impressions when it arrives. I may give them a try now.
It’s beautiful, Mary. You continue to raise the bar.

Congrats, Mary–the book looks terrific, and the prices sound good–a little lower than I’d expect, actually! (You’ll love it when you see them in person…nothing validates your work like seeing it in book form. I carried my first book around with me for a couple of weeks, in my bag…I just liked to pull it out and look at it, from time to time… ;))
I’m on Adorama’s mailing list, and have thought about giving Adoramapix a try…but I had no idea the service was so slow. 10 days for the product to arrive? Yikes!!! I’m spoiled rotten by my next day service from my lab! In the lab survey I conducted on one of my forums, that was in the fascinating thing to hear–what each person placed value on. Some people were more concerned with customer service, some with price, some with inexpensive next day shipping, some with product selection or integration with their lab management software… Fortunately, there are plenty of choices for everyone, these days! 🙂
I’ll be very interested in hearing your impressions once the books show up–be sure to review them for us! 🙂
