I’m A Detroit Michigan Model Photographer, Not An Agency

Beauty Photographers in Michigan are lucky indeed

  • I tend to keep it simple
  • no jewelry
  • I forgo extravagant makeup or hair
  • No crazy themes
  • Just keepin it real

I mentioned I got a new IPhone a few days ago.  Well apparently there is some secret code I signed that says I can’t talk (as in complain) about it.  I have to say my cheap Verizon phone worked much better. I love being on the net and the features are awesome on the IPhone.  It’s not comfy on my ear, receptions not good and I get dropped calls.  I’m waiting for the free bumper thingie to arrive in 4-6 weeks… hummm

Just kidding about signing a secret code

I am a loyal Apple user so I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.  So the jury’s still out.  I’ll get back at cha in 4-6.

On another note

I love my website marydupriestudio.com the way it is, but it has a major flaw now.  I have a custom designed sexy/cute scroll bar.  The only problem is it doesn’t work on the Iphone.  It’s a pretty easy fix by just deleting my sexy/cute  scroll bar with the one that is standard on your browser.

You can see the first three images in my galleries and that’s it.  Do you think it’s important enough to see all my images?  Would an art director look me up later when they are on a laptop?  Are my days numbered?  Can people see YOUR website on the Iphone?  Blackberry? and…

Steve Jobs and flash… very insightful for future website design and for clients finding you using IPhones, and who knows what, in the future.

About yesterdays post.  Apparently my website does look like an agencies website to people because I got another call and an email today asking if I’m looking for models.  My solution was to  add studio images to my Contact page and add some text.  So hopefully this will clarify that I’m a photographer, not a modeling agency (who would like to get paid for their services).

My SEO is working great, 4 new emails and 2 calls today.  Not bad considering 6 months ago I got zero calls from the internet.  I’ve redone my pricing to look a bit more spiffy but think it really lacks in presentation.  So I’ll have to put that on the top of my list, list, list.

Did I happen to mention I have lists and that my lists have lists

Have you noticed how clever I’ve been in using my keywords lately!?

No Apple Devices – iPhone, Ipad, anything apple mobile or portable will be able to view Flash. Galleries created in JSP, javascript, and HTML5 (very new) are the best way to go.

Hey Mark, thanks for the info.

The only problem with flash is you can’t really optimize it for SEO. But my sexy/cute scroll bar probably won’t be around forever… boo hoo

It’s obivous I’m a photographer and the good thing is my SEO is workin like crazy! I figure people looking for modeling agencies are looking for photographers, so I optimize for that too.

Mary, First off I love your website and thanks for sharing the wealth of information for a budding photographer. I do think it’s important to be able to see all images on a website from mobile devices. I have recently been working to convert some of my flash galleries to html5 galleries so all mobile phone can view my content. Not to knock on Apple and I believe that they do have some great products but I think they’re missing the boat on the mobile web thing. With my Droid phone (from Verizon) I am able to view flash content and I was able to pull up your website and scroll your sexy/cute scroll bar. Flash content does take a little while to load but once it does it’s just like being on a desktop. More and more people are staying connected with web-mobile devices these days. Every little bit helps in these time we’re in!

Thanks,
Mark W.

Hey Mark, If you’re willing to share the info, I’d be interested in learning what gallery software/plug-in you’re using to create HTML5 galleries. Thanks!
