Fussy Wussy Face Hair

Detroit Michigan Modeling Portfolio Photography by Mary DuPrie

Andi has such great bone structure and can take very hard light.  Once in awhile though I run into the problem of skimming over a models face which highlights the peach fuzz on the side.  I find it to be an exceptionally hard retouch, to the point that I wouldn’t even try.

I have the complete Nik Effects Pro Suite but haven’t really spent much time with it.  I thought this image would be great in black and white and spent just a few minutes fooling around.  The only problem was the hard contrast and other effects I added exacerbated the facial hair.  I tried a few different unsuccessful ways of retouching.  Pretty pathetic results.  My last attempt was to clone in darken mode to suck out the light hairs.  It certainly isn’t magazine quality nor could it be enlarged, merely a poor band aid.  What’s a girl to do?

And for the hoards of people who want to know how my pricing/info literature is coming along.

It’s a girl!
