Cross Eyed

I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.  Why “sometimes” Carly would look crossed eyed…hummm

I mentioned it to another photographer and he said it was ironic that he was just discussing it with his assistant.

It seems that the closer I stand with my 85 1.2 the model brings her eyes closer together to look down the lens…dahh.  For closeups with my 85 I’m usually right in their face.

The answer was so simple, kinda like, right in front of my face.

Carly’s eyes are totally normal in person but when I get close the camera reads it as crossed eyed.  I now know to stay a bit further away for Carly and no longer have the problem.

Each lens has it’s optimal f-stop and distance…I guess they mean it

I see that too with shots of my daughter. Must stand back and zoom with 200mm. Wish I had an 85 1.2………
