Detroit Michigan People Photography by Mary DuPrie
Today’s image is from Kelly’s comp card shoot from yesterday. I think this shot turned out great and will really sell the fact that she could represent a newscaster, executive or professional working women. Kelly’s hair is a great length for these roles.
I’ve often mentioned I don’t use my windows nearly enough. I use them all the time for headshots but hardly ever for 3/4 or full length shots. I’m thrilled with the results and how easy the set up will be, just open up the curtains and put up a background. I am using my tri flector in the vertical position to the right. For my two test (deep discounted shoot package) I think it will be my go to set up. (Yeah, I finally have a go to set up!)
The background is one of my custom painted canvas backgrounds which I think looks quite dramatic. Last July a student made one similar after seeing mine (the one on the left), watch the fun video here.

I really like this background! How far away is it from the model and what lens do you normally shoot this with? 85mm?
Just a great image here. I love that background. Always inspiring stuff on the site. Thanks Mary!
Very nice, love the color palette.
PS. I’ll see your “Detroit Michigan People Photography” and raise you “Detroit People Photographer”. LOL.
Cheers, Blake
I love it!
